Day 1:   D

Upon arrival, meet & transfer to hotel. After dinner transfer to Thang Long Theater to enjoy a Water Puppet show.

 

Day 2:   B, L, D

hanoiMorning visit: Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum - In the tradition of Lenin, Stalin and Mao, the final resting place of Ho Chi Minh is a glass sarcophagus set deep in the bowels of a monumental edifice that has become a site of pilgrimage. One Pillar Pagoda - The One Pillar Pagoda, built of wood on a single stone pillar 1.25 meters in diameter, is designed to resemble a lotus blossom, symbol of purity, rising out of a sea of sorrow. Ho Chi Minh Stilt House – behind Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum is a stilt house where Ho lived on and off from 1958 to 1969. The house is built in the style of Vietnam’s ethnic minorities and has been preserved just as Ho left it. It‘s set in a well-tended garden next to a carp-filled pond. Just how much time Ho actually spent here is questionable – the house would have made a tempting target for US bombers had it been suspected that Ho could be found here. Temple of Literature - The temple constitutes a rare example of well-preserved traditional Vietnamese architecture and is will worth a visit. After lunch proceed to Ha Long - with its 3,000 islands rising from the clear, emerald waters of the Gulf of Tonkin, is one of the natural marvels of Vietnam. These tiny islands are dotted with innumerable beaches and grottoes created by the wind and the waves.

 

Day 3:

halong2Morning boat trip on Ha Long to visit Thien Cung & Dau Go Caves, Titop islands. Lunch on boat, Afternoon back to Hanoi to visit: 36 Old Quarters – The Old Quarter is demarcated roughly speaking, by Hoan Kiem lake, the Citadel, Dong Xuan Market and the ramparts of the Red Rivers. As they have since the 15th century, the narrow streets of the Old Quarter bear names that reflect the business once conducted there: Silk Street, Rice Street, Paper Street, Broiled Fish Street, Vermicelli Street, Jewelers Street, Paper Votive Objects Street and so forth. This interesting area now houses a variety of small shops.

Army Museum – Soviet and Chinese weaponary supplied to the North are on display alongside French and US-made weapons captured in the France-Viet Minh War and the Vietnam War. The centerpiece is a Soviet-built MiG-21 jet fighter triumphant amid the wreckage of French aircraft downed at Dien Bien Phu and a US F-111. The display included scale models of various epic battles of Vietnam’s long military history, including Dien Bien Phu and the capture of Saigon. Hoan Kiem Lake – is an enchanting body of water right in the heart of Hanoi. Legend has it that in the Mid-15th century, Heaven gave Emperor Ly Thai To (Le Loi) a magical sword, which he used to drive the Chinese out of Vietnam. One day after the war, while-out boating, he came upon a giant golden tortoise swimming on the surface of the water: the creature grabbed the sword and disappeared into the depths of the lake. Since that time, the lake has been know as “Lake of the Restored Sword” because the tortoise restored the sword to its divine owners. The tiny Tortoise Pagoda, is on an islet in the middle of the lake and is often used as an emblem of Hanoi. Ngoc Son Temple - also known as Jade Mountain, found in the 18th century, is on an island in the northern part of Hoan Kiem Lake.

Arrival at Tan Son Nhat airport, meet & transfer to hotel for check-in. Evening transfer to local restaurant for dinner.

 

Day 2:   B, L, D

cuchi2Morning excursion to Cu Chi Tunnel Village and underground tunnels to experience the Famous Vietnam War (1965 - 1975). The system that lies 75km northwest of Ho Chin Minh city centre is where the Vietcong have lived and fought against the enemies. You will also get to see part of intricate network of underground tunnels, kitchens, food storage bunkers, medical centre, barracks and other military posts built by Vietcong. Return to Saigon for lunch. After lunch drive to Vung Tau - situated 125km southeast of Saigon. It is a famous beach resort with long white sandy beaches and warm water whole year round. Upon arrival, rest of day for sea bathing. seafood dinner. Overnight in Vung Tau.

 

 

Day 3:   B, L, D

vungtauMorning visit Vung Tau city including: Bao Dai Villa - was built in 1909 as a retreat for French governor Paul Doumer. It later became a summer palace for Vietnamese royalty. Jesus Monument - The 30m-high Giant Jesus Statue was constructed in 1974 on the site of an old lighthouse built by the French a century before, An enormous Rio de Janeiro-style figure of Jesus, with his arms out stretched gazing out across the South China Sea can be seen from the southern end of small Mountain. Whale Temple Nirvana Monatery - Built in 1971. this Temple famous for its 5000kg bronze bell, a huge reclining Buddha and intricate mosaic work. After lunch back to Saigon city to visit: War Museum - where American tanks, infantry weapons, photographs of war atrocities committed to by the Americans and Chinese are in display here. Lacquer ware factory - to see for yourself how lacquer ware, that can be used for decoration is being made out of mother-of-inlaid and egg shells. Dinner at local restaurant

 

Day 4:   B, L, D

Day trip to My Tho (Mekong Delta), upon arrival you will be take a boat ride to The Mekong river to visit an orchard on an islets, enjoy a traditional performance folk music, take a small sampan to explore the Mekong River, then visit Vinh Trang pagoda. Back to Saigon to visit Chinatown - Cholon Thien Hau Temple - the oldest Chinese temple. Dinner at local restaurant.
